Clyde Hutchinson, MBA, PhD

Clyde is a globally recognised leader in innovation and investment, with hands-on experience across five continents in climate resilience, food and life sciences, and transportation.

As Partner at Journey Partners, he builds pathways for disruptive technologies to scale through innovation hubs, early-stage investment funds, and cross-sector partnerships. He is General Partner at TEAM ABC Ventures, and the founder of Viva Air Labs, Latin America’s first aviation innovation hub.

Clyde serves as a senior technology specialist for the Asian Development Bank’s Korea Climate Technology Hub, and sits on expert panels and investment committees for the European Commission, EIT, URBACT, and UN-aligned initiatives. His experience spans evaluating funding proposals, advising global programs, and shaping strategies in emerging and frontier markets.

Originally trained as a scientist, Clyde began his career with postdoctoral fellowships at Cambridge, Imperial College London, and the University of Tokyo. He brings a unique perspective that blends science, entrepreneurship, and global policy with innovation leadership.

Brian Marrinan, MBA

Brian is a globally experienced innovation and investment leader focused on building high-impact ecosystems that drive sustainability, transformation, and growth.

As Managing Partner at Journey Partners and General Partner at Team ABC Ventures, he works with early-stage ventures, public institutions, and corporates to unlock potential through tailored innovation programs, startup funding, and leadership development. He has supported over 100 ventures across climate tech, transport, and sustainability.

Brian co-founded Ireland’s first startup accelerator and one of the world’s earliest fintech incubators in Boston. He has served as an evaluator and advisor for the European Commission, URBACT, and numerous funding programmes, including BlueInvest, Women TechEU, and EIT Food.

A regular speaker at major innovation forums across Europe and N America. Brian also lectures on strategy and innovation at institutions such as Trinity College Dublin and the Open University. His prior roles include Head of Talent Development at EY and Head of Skills Development at UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Brian holds an MBA from UCD Smurfit, a BSc in Business Information Systems, and diplomas in Psychology and Executive Coaching.
